Lenovo’s new Thinkstations look pretty sharp

We got all the specs on Lenovo’s new Thinkstation line earlier today, but pics of the new S10 and D10 case design just landed in our inbox and we’ve got to say, it looks pretty slick.Check one more pic after the break. Sure, that handle doesn’t seem like it’ll be all too useful, but compared to Lenovo’s last attempt at advanced design, this thing is positively restrained.

LaCie Hub gets reborn, goes USB-only

If you’ll notice, however, each of the seven cables are some form of USB 2.0, and no, there’s not a production line snafu to blame. LaCie is betting that some of you out there would actually prefer an all-USB Hub, and if you just so happen to fit that mold, you can grab one now for $79.

It is 17 inch laptop with a WSXGA+ resolution (1680×1050), 4GB of RAM, two 160GB HDD in RAID, a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo T7700 and two powerful GeForce 8600M GT in SLI. Sadly, this desktop replacement only offers 1.1 hour of battery life. The Dynabook Satellite WXW/79DW retails for $2,800.

Hewlett-Packard xw6600 And xw8600 Workstations

The company claims that these PCs are 90 percent recyclable by weight and come with more than 80 percent efficient power supplies. The HP xw6600 and xw8600 will be released in mid December with the price tag at around $1,200.

That 14-inch display is of the WXGA+ variety (or 1440 x 900), which gets complemented by some pretty decent specs across the board, including a choice of four Core 2 Duo processors between 2.0 and 2.6GHz, up to 4GB of RAM, a max 200GB hard drive, and NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M graphics. Those looking to join the SSD crowd can also opt for a speedy 32GB drive, although you’ll have to pay a hefty $550+ premium for that pleasure. On the other hand, those slightly less demanding can snag one with the base configuration right now for $1,439.

How would you change Asus’ Eee PC?

Regardless, just about everyone who managed to get ahold of Asus’ little darling came away impressed, if not thoroughly pleased, with how much functionality was stuffed into a sub-$400, two-pound ultraportable. Of course, critics were not hesitant to admit that the bugger wasn’t perfect, and we’ve all ideas that a number of you early adopters out there share similar sentiments. So without further ado, why not give the world a piece of your mind on the matter? How would you meliorate the Eee PC? Make it more functional, more fashionable or just (even) more affordable?
