Grey’s Anatomy Cast Joins Striking Writers

Spending their lunch breaks outside the Prospect Studios, where the show is filmed, some of the cast members spoke with press about their newly altered schedule. “We’re supposed to be going until the end of May and right now our last shooting day will be Tuesday or Wednesday,” T.R. Knight said, adding, “As actors, we’re paid a different way than the writers, but there’s also the crew to keep in mind. They are out of work as of next Wednesday.”

About the strike, which began on Monday, Katherine Heigl told, “You’ve got to have a story. You’ve got to have a story in order to perform anything, to have any ideas on where to go and what to do, and where the character, story lines, arcs, everything. They’re everything. We can’t do it without them.”

Zac Efron Hits the Court

Not one to waste the day, the High School Musical hunk was spotted out at a local basketball court on Thursday, where he showed off his moves for a solid two hours. According to paparazzi on the scene, “The fitness fanatic was sporting a “Pre Lives” t-shirt in reference to American running icon Steve Prefontaine.”

Back to the basketball… during a recent press tour for Disney’s HSM, Zac told of his skill level: “I am not a basketball player. No stunt double, but I’m not that great of a basketball player. I had one real season under my belt, playing with kids who were so much better than me; it was embarrassing, I think I scored two points all season. So, it took a lot of practice to say the least.”

Nicole Richie: Tired Of Being Pregnant?

According to the latest rumors, the 26-year-old mother-to-be is getting a little antsy to get the pregnancy over and done with, which is causing some concern over the baby’s well-being. An insider told Star magazine, “Nicole feels like she’s been pregnant for years, not months…She’s being very careless. She just doesn’t want to be pregnant anymore. She’s tired of it. The thrill has definitely worn off.”

Along with being accused of smoking cigarettes, which she denied, the former Simple Life star isn’t following some other “rules” of pregnancy, as she should be.

The source tells, “Nicole could be doing real damage to the child, without even knowing it. Nicole was out sunbathing in Hawaii three days in a row when she was there for her birthday. She also relaxed in the Jacuzzi…Most hairdressers and doctors tell women not to dye their hair while they are expecting. But Nicole doesn’t seem to think the advice applies to her.”

Lindsay Lohan’s Ugly Betty Role

Female First reports tell that the Georgia Rule actress and producers envision her playing “a fallen beauty queen who ends up working as an assistant manager of a fast food restaurant.” Talking more about the guest appearance, a source told: “Betty (the show’s main character) tries to help Lindsay’s character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show.”

If everything pans out and Lindsay takes on the role, she’ll join fellow celebrities Victoria Beckham and Lucy Liu, who’ve both enjoyed Ugly Betty roles in the past.

Katie Holmes Out In DC, Inspires Hubby

The Cruise clan was in Washinton DC for an undisclosed visit, and it appears that the “Teaching Mrs. Tingle” actress saw the value in teaching her daughter about the history of America. Holmes has been spending a lot of time out and about in big cities. Last weekend she ran in the New York City Marathon under an alias, and finished in just under five-and-a-half hours.

And Tom was beaming. “I know, she’s impressive. She inspires me. I said that she trained for three months, but it was really only over two months, actually. So, it’s quite an accomplishment [for] anyone to do that.”

Of waiting for his beautiful bride at the finish line, Tom said, “Have you ever been there at the final when people are running in at that marathon? It’s an incredible experience, actually, to see people coming in. You can see what it means.”

Britney and K-Fed’s Emergency Court Session

This is all due to the “Gimme More” singer being accused of being a frequent and habitual drug user by the judge presiding over the case. She is supposed to be submitting to twice weekly drug tests, as well as showing up for urine screens within six hours of it being requested.

Update: During the hearing, both sides’ laywers “have been ordered to come up with a new drug testing plan and present it to Gordon at a hearing Tuesday. Gordon also ruled that Spears must provide a single, working telephone number to be called in for drug testing.”

Nicole Kidman’s Natural Beauty

At 40-years-old, the Australian actress has been claimed to have numerous procedures to keep her youthful appearance, but Nicole says that the rumors are just not true. “To be honest, I am completely natural,” Kidman recently told Marie Claire magazine, adding, “I have nothing in my face or anything. I wear sunscreen, and I don’t smoke. I take care of myself. And I’m very proud to say that.”

And while Kidman has not had anything done herself, she says she does not judge people who have had plastic surgery. “Anybody can do anything to themselves, their bodies,” she tells.

Lindsay Lohan

The Mean Girls actress, who was out at Beverly Hills restaurant Yu-N-Mi, has reportedly paid off a contract that tied her into party promotion, therefore, avoiding temptation that might come along with it. According to a Star source, “Her agreement with Pure nightclub was that she got paid $350,000 for a series of appearances, including her 21st birthday blowout. When Lindsay went into rehab and had to cancel the party, the club offered to take the money back, but she’d already spent it!”

But since that time, LiLo has come up with the cash to pay them back, which keeps her from having to appear at the remainder of events left on the contract.

The insider tells, “She’s taken what money she earned doing her latest movie and bought her way out of it.”

Eva Longoria Enjoys Day Off With Nicollette

Eva told Elle magazine: “Flick and I live down the street from each other. When Tony is in town, Marcia and I get together with our husbands - those two are big basketball fans. And Nicollette and I go shopping all the time. They are a great group of girls. And some of us are really close.”

Staying true to her word, Eva was spotted out in Hollywood on a shopping trip with Nicollette just yesterday afternoon (November 8).

The girls do hope to be back on the set soon, but know that it may be some time before they’re filming scenes on Wisteria Lane.
